A box full of guns was lined up and counted after they were brought in by someone who police assumed was a property master in the film industry. All of the weapons, while possibly used for movies, were all operable guns that could still fire a bullet. The LAPD held their 3rd annual Gun Buy Back program at six locations throughout the city, including the Parking lot at Facey Medical Center on Sepulveda Blvd. in Mission Hills.
The program allows people to anonymously turn in guns to the LAPD and receive a gift card to purchase food at Ralph’s grocery stores. A $100 gift card was issued for a handgun; shotgun or rifle while a $200 card was given for weapons classified as assault weapons. Mission Hills, CA 5-7-2011. (John McCoy/staff photographer)
