A Boeing C-17 fuselage is moved from Long Beach Airport to the Seal Beach Naval Weapons Station where it will shipped to to the east coast.
7/21/09 - A C-17 fuselage leaves the Long Beach Airport where it was build by the Boeing Company by way of Spring Street on its way to the Seal Beach Naval Weapons Station where it will shipped to the east coast, with eventual arrival at the future home of the U. S. Army Transportation Center and School in Fort Eustis, Virginia. Do to tree branches and low hanging cables, it took four hours to to make its way to Willow St. and Lakewood Blvd. 1.5 miles away.
Transporting a C-17 fuselage from Long Beach where they are made to Virginia instead of just constructing one on the east coast is expected to save at least $1 million.
