4/6/10 - Bryce Parsons of Boy Scout Troop 212 spent a day of spring break helping fellow scout finish up his Eagle Scout project at Millikan High School. Babak Ghandchi, 17, made it his Eagle Scout project to build a 226-foot paved sidewalk around the side of the high school so that students in wheelchairs can have access to the garden. After six months of planning, fundraising, and gathering volunteer labor the project is complete. Ghandchi is a student at Mayfair but his mother works at Millikan and saw a need at the school.
According to Wikipedia, Eagle Scout is the highest rank attainable in the Boy Scouting program of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA). A Scout who attains this rank is called an Eagle Scout or Eagle. Since its introduction in 1911, the Eagle Scout rank has been earned by more than 2 million young men which is about 2% of membership. The title of Eagle Scout is held for life, thus giving rise to the phrase "Once an Eagle, always an Eagle".
