Fishbeck, along with four soldiers from his unit, were killed in action on June 6, 2011 in Bagdad, Iraq of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit with indirect fire. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 7th Field Artillery Regiment, 2nd Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kan. Spc. Christopher Brook Fishbeck, is survived by his wife of three months Stephanie Kidder, his father Gary Fishbeck of Seal Beach, his mother Toni Kay of Anaheim,his sister Rene Gutel of Paris, France, and his sister Randi Jean Fishbeck of Anaheim Calif. Memorial services to be held on Monday, June 20, 2011 at 11:00 am at St. Irenaeus, located at 5201 Evergreen Avenue in Cypress.
