Long Beach Municipal Band
LONG BEACH, CALIF. USA -- Larry Curtis, center, director of the Long Beach (Calif.) Municipal Band, chats with councilwomen Rae Gabelich, left, and Gerrie Schipske before the start of their last concert of the summer. About 4000 people came to El Dorado Park to see what might be the band last performance.
The Long Beach Municipal Band, the nation's oldest continually operating city bands, may be on its way out due to budget cuts. The band is 101 years-old.
The city spends $480,000 spent on the 40-member band
