The 122-foot schooner Lynx arrives in Rainbow Harbor for public tours and in prepreation for the upcomming 2009 Transpacific Yacht Race.
6/17/09 - The 122-foot square topsail schooner "Lynx" fires her cannon as she passes the Queen Mary in Long Beach Wednesday afternoon before entering Rainbow Harbor where she will be available for free public tours Thursday, June 18, 2008 from noon to 7 p.m., and 10-1 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
The public can see the Lynx prior to the start of the 2009 Transpacific Yacht Race with a June 29th start when Lynx will be on her way to the Pt. Fermin Starting line of the 2,225 mile race to Honolulu. Lynx will try to beat the 12 day - 10 hour winning time of the schooner yacht Lurline winner of the first Transpacific Yacht Race in 1906.
