08-30-10 Jennifer Wrenn, left, and Deputy District Attorney Carol Rose, right, as Wrenn's victim impact statement is read during the sentencing of Charles Juan Proctor, in a Long Beach Superior courtroom. Proctor is a Nevada transient dubbed the box cutter for a series of violent armed robberies in which a razor was used to threaten, and in some cases slash the throats of his victims. Proctor was convicted earlier this month on multiple felony counts for half a dozen robberies that targeted women in Long Beach, and one in Hawaiian Gardens, working in businesses on their own. Proctor would talk to them, pretending to be a customer, before robbing them. Two victims were badly cut, with one woman having her throat slit twice. She told jurors Proctor twisted the blade to get the weapon deeper into her throat.". Charles Juan Proctor was sentenced to 433 years and 4 months to life.
