SEAL BEACH, CALIF. -- Cmdr. Jim Craycraft, executive officer of the base, watchs as Navy's newest warship arrives at Anaheim Bay at the Seal Beach (Calif.) Naval Weapons Station on February 26, 2010, in preparation for her commissioning next week. The USS Dewey is guided missile destroyer and is named for Adm. George Dewey, who led his squadron of warships into Manila Bay in 1898, destroying the Spanish fleet in only two hours without a single American loss. Dewey became admiral of the Navy, a rank created for him in 1903. The ship named for Dewey is the 55 th of 62 Arleigh Burke-class destroyers either in commission, under construction or on order.
