Edith Shain talks with Warren Hegg, right, aboard the Queen Mary Thursday. Shain was a U.S. Army nurse during the war and became famous after a Life magazine photographer Alfred Eisenstaedt captured her being kissed by a soldier in Times Square on V-J Day Aug. 14, 1945, which marked the end of the war. The picture can be seen on a poster behind Shain. Adams and Shain along with national historic organizations are meeting in the 1st Annual World War II Legacy Leadership Seminar to develop plans for launching a national campaign to mobilize youth to help document the lives of America's "greatest generation".
